Many Cyberpunk 2077 gamers complained they’re unable to disassemble items they had previously disassembled without any problems. Investing more points into tech doesn’t seem to help fix this glitch.
It seems that this problem occurs when you use the item while in the menu or when you’re already using that item, but you suddenly go to the menu. If you do that, the animation might get stuck and this is what’s actually preventing you from dismantling items. Follow the steps below to fix the problem.
What to do if you can’t disassemble items in Cyberpunk
Drop the stack and eat something
To be able to disassemble various items, you need to first drop the stack, and then eat or drink something else. After you do that, you can pick up the stack again and proceed with dismantling the respective items.
Other users said that eating a different item will do the trick without needing to drop the stack. Use both of these methods and check which one works for you.
Or you can drop all of the items but one. Then consume the one item from the stack. Pick the stack back up and check if you can disassemble it.
Other gamers said that it’s not enough to eat an item, you actually need to eat an item that has a stack size. In other words, bug out a different stack. It seems that only one stack in your inventory can be bugged at a time. “Eat one item of a stack, try to disassemble it, it’s bugged, now disassemble your giant stack“.
Throw a grenade of the same type
If you’re experiencing this problem with grenades, try throwing a grenade of the same type before trying to disassemble it. Alternatively, you can also drop all of your grenades but one, and then use or throw the last grenade. Craft a new one and check if the issue is gone.
Sell and re-buy the problematic items
If you use one of the stack of items by accident, that can also cause the glitch. If dropping the pack on the ground didn’t work, try using one of the items and then sell back the rest. After you do that, you can buy all the items back. You should now be able to disassemble them again.
Keep in mind that you need to use one of the items before selling the rest back for this method to work. One item will do.
