Can’t join your friends’ Battlefield 2042 games? Are you getting a strange error message that says the game could not find the respective user? Rest assured, you’re not the only one. Many players complained about not being able to get into a party with their friends. Head below to learn more about this alert.
User not found in Battlefield 2042
Check your game version
The “User not found” error may indicate players are not using the same Battlefield 2042 game version. Last-gen console gamers cannot play Battlefield 2042 with current-gen players. The last-gen version of the game supports 64 player matches, as opposed to 128 on current-gen consoles. We’re talking about two different games.
If you can’t join your friends’ games, make sure everybody’s running the same Battlefield 2042 game version. For example, if you own a PS5 console, make sure to download the last-gen version of the game. If one of you installs the PS4 version of the game, you won’t be able to play together.
Restart your computer or console
Restart your PC or console and check if the “User not found” error persists. Additionally, unplug your router and leave it unplugged for two minutes. This will reset your connection to BF 2042’s servers. Plug the router back into the wall outlet and check if you can play together.
