Outdated mods that are no longer compatible with The Sims 4 can cause many annoying errors. Even the most popular mods often stop working when EA launches a new game version of The Sims 4.

If The Sims 4 keeps crashing on your PC, one or more of your mods is probably out of date.

To find out which mod is crashing The Sims 4 on your computer, move your Mods folder to your desktop. Then, go to The Sims 4 game folder, and delete the localthumbcache.package file.

Delete all the folders that have “cache” in the name.

After deleting your cache files, go to Origin, right-click on The Sims 4 and select the Repair option.

This option allows you to automatically scan and repair broken and corrupted game files.

After repairing your game files, restart Origin and launch The Sims 4 again. Check if the game is working without mods.

Your game client will automatically re-create the cache files you previously deleted, including the Mods folder.

To identify which mods are crashing your game, go to your desktop, copy one of your mods and paste it into the new Mods folder.

Move your mods back into the Mods folder one by one. Make sure to check every time if the game is working properly.

This will help you identify the culprit.

Now, that you’ve identified the problematic mod, check if there’s an updated version available. Download it on your computer and check if the issue persists.

Use the same method for CC files

You can use the same method to find out which CC files are causing various glitches in The Sims 4.

To speed up the process, start by dividing your CC files into several batches or subfolders.

Check these subfolders one by one to identify which CC is breaking your game.

Hope something helps.

Happy Simming!
