Elden Ring lets you write messages to fellow players and give them important tips about what’s ahead. Messages that have a ghost or emote attached typically drive home the intent much better.
Here’s how you can write messages with emoji in Elden Ring.
How do I add emoji to my messages in Elden Ring?
To write a message with emoji in Elden Ring, press Y or Triangle on your controller, or F on PC while writing your message to change the format. You can now add your emoji or write longer messages.
You can also have both: put down a longer message and add an emoji or gesture to anyone that reads it. To do that, press the Y, Triangle or F key a third time. The game will display a second set of blanks as well as the emoji option.
You can write messages to warn other players of nearby ambushes or point them to the right direction. Or you can simply put down a funny message to encourage them or make them chuckle.
How to fix the question mark emoji issue in Elden Ring
If you see questions marks instead of emoji, close the game and repair your game files. Restart your computer, launch Elden Ring again, and the problem should be gone.
