The EA App doesn’t have controller support. Unfortunately, you can’t use your controller to play your favorite games on the EA App.
Even if your games offer full controller support on Steam, Epic, UPlay, GOG, and other platforms, you can’t use this feature on the EA App.
This can lead to really frustrating situations.
You can play EA games on Steam using your controller as your main input method, but you can’t do the same on the EA App.
Some EA App users used harsh words to describe this situation:
It’s very strange that I can play EA games on Steam but not on their own platform. Frankly, it’s kind of absurd and embarrassing if this was my company. Am I missing something or does EA just not want our money?
If you’re thinking about using various methods to work your way around this limitation, you may want to think twice before doing anything.
These methods generally don’t work.
After using various workarounds to enable controller support on the EA App, many users said their controller still didn’t register anything in the game.
Not all the gamers out there are interested in going to such lengths to make something as simple as a controller work by adding the game to Steam, tweaking various in-game options, disabling all overlays, launching the game through a third-party app, and so on.
What EA needs to do is add controller support to their PC app and make this feature easy to use.
Gamers should not jump through countless hoops to make something as essential as controller support work.
On the other hand, many gamers choose to vote with their feet (or hands, if you will). Those who want controller support migrate to other gaming platforms that support this feature natively.
