Fix: EA App won’t download add-ons

EA-App-add-on-not-downloading

Are you having trouble downloading add-ons on the EA app? I know how frustrating that can be. Add-ons can take your gaming experience to the next level, bringing new content and features to keep things fresh and exciting.

In this article, I’ll walk you through some simple and easy-to-follow steps to solve this issue and install game add-ons in no time.

What to do if the EA App won’t download add-ons

Clear the app cache

Click on the three dashes in the left-hand corner of the EA app, scroll down to Help, click on App Recovery, and then select Clear Cache.

Restart the app and check if you can download the problematic game add-ons.

If the issue persists, jump to the next step.

Run the app as an admin

Make sure to run the EA App with administrator rights. Right-click on the EA App desktop shortcut and select Run as administrator.

Running the EA app as an admin allows it to make changes on your computer. This option can help the app bypass restrictions that might be preventing it from downloading add-ons, installing updates, or accessing certain files or folders.

Install the add-ons on your main drive

Many gamers that had this exact problem fixed it by installing their add-ons on the C disk. For most users, that’s the default drive.

Double-check your default installation path and make sure to download your add-ons on the same drive you where installed your EA App and games.

Attempting to install add-ons onto a different drive may not work, so it’s important to install them on the correct drive.

Check your connection

Network or bandwidth issues may prevent the EA App from installing game add-ons.

Here are a few quick tips to troubleshoot this problem:

  • Unplug your router for one minute
  • Switch to a cable connection
  • Disconnect all the other devices using the connection
  • Switch to a different network such as a mobile hotspot

Reinstall the EA App

Go to Control Panel, select Uninstall a program, and locate the EA App. Select the app and hit the Uninstall button to remove it from your machine.

Restart your computer, download the EA App again, install it, and check if you can download game add-ons.

Hope something helps.
