As you play your favorite games, your Xbox One console stores game saves and other player or game-related information. But as you play more and more games, the saved data might clog up your console and some of the files might even get corrupted. All this translates into connectivity issues, game crashes, or freezes, slow game loads, and more.
Deleting saved game data is not something you should do on a regular basis, unlike clearing the cache, as you risk losing important game progress. But if you’re experiencing really annoying issues on your Xbox and all the troubleshooting methods you tried failed to fix it, you can try to delete your saved game data.
⇒ Note: Think twice before deleting saved game data. This action has permanent consequences and you cannot do anything to cancel it. A good approach is to back up your saved game data — whether on a USB storage device or in the cloud — before you hit the Delete button. If you change your mind or something goes wrong, you can always restore the data.
