Darwin Project is a battle royale game that has the potential of becoming one of the most popular games of 2020.
The game challenges 10 inmates to survive the elements, craft tools, and fight until there is only one man standing.
This is not your regular battle royale game though. There is a Show Director feature that allows players to influence the match using a series of special powers. The Spectator Interactions feature is perfect for Twitch allowing viewers to enjoy a unique game show.
While the full details of the game will be revealed on release date, there is one particular question that’s on everybody’s lips.
Is Darwin Project cross platform? Scavengers Studio confirmed on Reddit there are no plans to add crossplay features to Darwin Project. The company’s community manager added this is something they looked into but for the time being, gamers playing on different platforms cannot play together.
Many fans of the game still hope the devs will implement this feature as the game becomes more popular among gamers. This could also be a great strategy to help the game grow if it fails to gain traction shortly after launch. Cross platform would benefit the game as it would encourage more gamers to play together thus increasing the player count.
The never ending PC vs console debate is on
Just as it happens with every newly launched game, players are divided whether Darwin Project should support crossplay or not. Some suggest PC players would annihilate Xbox gamers. While playing with a mouse and keyboard offers important advantages, let us not forget there are many Xbox players ranking on top position in Fortnite.
Of course, it all boils down to the shooting mechanics. It seems that aim accuracy is much more important in Darwin Project than in Fortnite, but time will tell is crossplay is indeed appropriate for the game.
