Xbox Live is a popular gaming platform that allows users to play online with friends and family. One of its key features is the option to create child accounts that have restricted access to certain features and content.
When the user of the child account becomes an adult, you can promote the account to an adult account with full access to all features and content.
Here’s how you can do that and let them enjoy all that Xbox Live has to offer.
Turn your Xbox child Account into an adult account
The quickest way to change an Xbox child account and make it an adult account is to change the birthdate of that child account. This will allow the account to be promoted from a child account to an adult account.
- Go to Family.Microsoft.com and login to your Microsoft parent account
- Select Manage my child’s profile info
- In the Manage permissions page, select Edit this child’s personal info
- Change the birth date
Save the changes and look for the Promote Child Account option. Keep in mind that this option is available only if the birth date on the account indicates the user is an adult in their country or region.
Once the account has been promoted to an adult account, the owner can take control of it.
If you encounter any permission issues, you may need to remove the account from your family group. Go to Microsoft’s family page, remove the account, and then add it back as an organizer/adult.
Enjoy your gaming sessions!
