There is currently no option to manually adjust your Sim’s height in The Sims 4. The game relies on height differences to distinguish between various age groups.
All the Sims that belong to the same age group (teenagers, young adults, and older Sims) have exactly the same height.
Having the option to adjust your Sim’s height would make it difficult to distinguish between a teenager and a young adult.
However, having a few height variations of adult Sims would indeed make the game more interesting.
There is a mod to change a Sim’s height
If you’re into mods, you’ll be glad to learn that there are many height slider mods that you can use to modify your Sim’s height.
Since EA does not currently support this feature, this is the only option you’ve got to change your Sim’s height.
Keep in mind that particular actions such as social interactions, hugging and kissing often seem off when using mods that support height sliders.
Animation variations are the problem
This is one of the main reasons why EA decided not to implement an official height slider. Adding a height slider means that EA would have to add thousands of new animations to the game.
Each notch on the slider would require at least 100 animation variations for every interaction to match properly.
To host all these animation variations, players would need an animation library which requires additional storage space. Your computer would not play all the animations at the same time.
It would play only one, while the rest of 99 animation variations would still be stored in the library.
This would, of course, require more computing power in terms of CPU speed and RAM as well.
Given the reasons listed above, it’s hard to believe EA will ever implement any options that would allow gamers to control their Sims’ height.
Meanwhile, don’t forget that you can change your Sim’s body mass and muscle mass. Go ahead and hit the gym to see your Sim transform.
