Steam Discussions is the place where users can share more about their gaming experience, connect with other users interested in the same game and get the latest updates about their favorite games.
But sometimes Steam discussions are not visible or they’re not loading. Even if you refresh the page, all you see are some empty squares without any text. Why is that happening? How can you fix the problem? We’ll answer these two questions and more in the guide below.
Fix Content in Steam Discussions Is Not Visible
Quick Fix: If you don’t have a Steam account and you’re trying to view the discussions without being logged in, all you’ll see are some empty squares with only the names of the users who replied being visible. To view content in Steam Discussions, make sure to log in to your Steam account.
If you’ve got a new Steam account, there will be some restrictions as to what features you can use. Sometimes, you may be able to access Steam Discussions but you won’t be able to engage in the discussion and reply.

Fix 1 – Clear your browser cache
If Steam discussions are not showing on your browser, try clearing the cache and cookies. The temporary files that you browser stores as cache and cookies may interfere with Steam’s scripts and block certain areas of the platform from displaying correctly.

Alternatively, you can switch to another browser and check if that works.
Fix 2 – Keep on hitting F5 to refresh the page
Another thing you can do is hit the F5 buttons for one or two minutes continuously in order to refresh the page. Some users said they were able to solve the problem by repetitively refreshing the page. Maybe that works for you as well.
Fix 3 – Enable address bar display
- Go to your Steam Settings menu and click on Interface
- Locate the following option: Display Steam URL address bar when available
- Make sure the checkbox is checked
- Restart Steam and check if the forum discussions are now visible.
We hope something helps.
