What Happens if Your Character Dies in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Baldurs-Gate-3-Character-Death

In the thrilling world of Baldur’s Gate 3, danger lurks around every corner, and your character’s life hangs by a thread. But what exactly happens when that thread snaps and your hero falls in battle? Don’t fret, death in Baldur’s Gate 3 isn’t the end of the road.

What Happens if You Die in Baldur’s Gate 3?

In Baldur’s Gate 3, when your character’s HP hits zero, they’re knocked out. You roll a special dice to see if they survive or die. To live, you need three successful rolls. But if you fail three times, your character is gone for good.

Getting healed or stabilized stops the need for these rolls.

If you get hurt while down, it’s like failing twice.

Rolling a 1 on this dice is also really bad, counting as two failures. But rolling a 20 means you’re stable.

Certain spells can bring characters back, unless they’ve taken damage greater than their max HP.

In that case, it’s a permanent death.

Use the Scroll of Revivify

If the whole party dies, it’s game over. If only some die, use the Scroll of Revivify.

You can find it in various locations within the game.

Alternatively, you can purchase it from specific vendors like Roah Moonglow at Shattered Sanctum, Arron at The Hollow, or Cyrel at The Risen Road, Toll House.

Ensure your fallen party member is nearby. You can’t use the scroll if the character is too far away.

If all goes well, your fallen ally will be revived and return to the land of the living.

The Scroll of Revivify is a precious resource, and it’s best used strategically. Ensure you have one when you need it most.

Make sure you’re in a safe position to revive your ally, as it takes some time to use the scroll. Your character can be vulnerable during this process.

Happy gaming!
